Welcome to the homeBBBrew board!
Like the BBB, the homeBBBrew board is not a club, just a place to talk about making beer. Is there a swap you would like to see happen? If we can find a few others who have something similar then lets do it!

Lalvin 71-B
Brewed a Saison a month ago, pitching only Lalvin's 71-B wine yeast. After 3 weeks in primary, a pellicle has formed. I'm not discounting the fact that brett made it's way in, and it's seeming that that is in fact what happened solely based on my inability to find any mention online of this yeast producing pellicle's. However, I thought I'd ask you fine folks if you have any record / knowledge of this yeast in relation to pellicle's. thanks!

Re: Lalvin 71-B
71B does not make pellicles, nor can it ferment maltotriose. So without something else in there it will not be a very dry beer. Although it seems that problem is likely fixed.
