Saison with raisins
Hello. I'm looking for some advice for my current saison. I have it in a barrel with Brett B. I was originally going to add green grapes of some variety this coming spring, only to realize that grapes won't be in season obviously. My thought now is to maybe dump some green raisins in there. Anyone have some advice on this? Thanks in advance. Rob

Re: Saison with raisins
Soak the raisins in some warm water, just enough to cover them. Then bring the water and raisins to a boil and take off the heat and let it cool for a while. Place into a blender and blend slightly. Let it all cool and then carefully pour into your fermenter. This allows all the available sugars to be accessed by the yeast.

Thanks for the reply. How much raisins per gallon would be appropriate, 1-2 pounds'ish.

Re: Saison with raisins
One pound per five gallons should do it.

Re: Saison with raisins
Leave them alone until you are ready to bottle.
